Simple harmonic motion questions

1 List the 3 types of harmonic motion and very briefly compare them.
2 How is the equilibrium position defined for a spring?
3 What /who is inside the car left on the Tacoma Narrows bridge?
4 Where was the bridge in Russia that rippled in the wind?
5 What is the generic equation for simple harmonic motion?
6 How is the natural frequency of an oscillating spring affected if the amplitude is doubled and the mass is changed by a factor of 9?
7 A pendulum bob's mass is 1/4 the original. It's period is doubled and it amplitude is tripled. By what factor has the length of the pendulum changed?

For the questions below you may need to make some assumptions. If you can look something up instead of guessing, then you should. List you assumptions you made in the solution.

What is the pogo sticks effective spring constant when he makes it over the bar? (List all assumptions you made to solve the problem. You cannot assume the answer :-) )

Omit

The spring constant of a trampoline depends on where you land on the trampoline. What is the spring constant when the gymnast hits the center mark for the 1st time? (What assumptions did you make? (List all assumptions you made to solve the problem. You cannot assume the answer. )
  omit

This motion is damped due to air resistance but ignore that. What is the length of the cable for the first 3 time the rider passes the equilibrium position? (To save time, start watching the video at 2:59.) Describe how you measured the period of motion. (List all assumptions you made to solve the problem. You cannot assume the answer :-) )

This is short segment from the classic video game, "Pitfall." Is the length of the rope Harry uses accurately scaled is Harry is about 2.0 m tall when he grabs onto the vine? Start paying attention at 24 seconds. (List all assumptions you made to solve the problem. You cannot assume the answer. )
