Practice 2.1 |
The difference between walking and running is the number of feet in contact with the ground. When walking, at least one foot must be in contact with the ground at all times. When running, at some point in the in the stride both feet are in the air. If a person is walking at 7 miles/hour, then how many "walking paces"/second is this. (An average walking pace has a length of 31 inches.) Work out the problem and then check your answer below.
